Wall Street Journal, What’s in Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer’s Reconciliation Deal on Climate, Health and Tax Policy

Summary 📖 :

  • Senator Joe Manchin (W. Va) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D. NY) agreed to a deal to support a legislative package that sends billions to climate, healthcare, prescription-drug policies, and tax policies

  • The package would spend $369 billion on climate and energy programs, including tax credits for buying electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles

  • Preliminary analysis by Rhodium Group shows the proposal could the U.S back on track to reduce GHG by 31 to 44% below 2005 levels by 2030
