1) πŸ’Έ 7 Trillion in Fossil Fuel Subsidies:

In 2023, fossil fuel companies received $7 trillion in global subsidies. Does this money still need to be going to fossil fuels as other types of energy increase? Biden's administration has reduced subsidies to fossil fuel production, but this does not necessarily mean away from fossil fuel companies. Many of these companies have begun production of greener forms of energy, which can qualify for incentives. Learn more here
 

2) France 🀝 Nuclear:

France is looking to build up to 14 more nuclear plants. Nuclear is at the heart of France's carbon neutrality by 2050 plan, and the decision regarding these reactors will be debated in parliament in late January. Learn more here
 

3) πŸ“‰ Spain's Decreased Electricity Demand:

Spain's electricity demand has decreased 2.3% for the second year in a row. In the wake of the energy crisis, industrial consumers are consuming less electricity. As renewable production in Spain soars, sources wonder if too many forms of energy are being produced. Learn more here
