1) 📈 New Standards for the Voluntary Carbon Market:
The Biden-Harris Administration has introduced new principles to guide high-integrity voluntary carbon markets, emphasizing the need for robust standards to ensure real decarbonization and avoid environmental and social harm. These principles aim to restore confidence in carbon markets by enhancing transparency, ensuring fair treatment for all participants, and supporting economic opportunities across diverse sectors while driving significant progress toward climate goals. 2) 💵 ConocoPhillips in Talks to Acquire Marathon Oil:
ConocoPhillips has announced a $22.5 billion all-stock deal to acquire Marathon Oil, including $5.4 billion of debt. The acquisition, expected to close in the fourth quarter, will enhance ConocoPhillips' U.S. onshore portfolio with over 2 billion barrels of resources and ramp up share buybacks to $7 billion next year. 3) 💡President Biden Announces more Transmission Policy:
The Biden-Harris Administration has launched a Federal-State Modern Grid Deployment Initiative to enhance America's power grid's resilience and capacity. This initiative, involving 21 states, aims to implement advanced grid technologies, streamline the federal permitting process, and upgrade 100,000 miles of existing transmission lines, all to support clean energy integration, create jobs, and lower energy costs.
