1) πŸ’° $975 Billion New Steel Projects:

New federal initiatives (CHIPS Act, IRA and IIJA) meant to support new US infrastructure, clean energy systems, and US manufacturing, are all going to lead to a major increase in the demand for steel. These initiatives make up $975 billion in funding, and will generate approximately 5-8 Mtpa in incremental annual steel demand. Steel is the backbone of the energy transition in many ways, and is the most recycled material in the world. Lean more here


 

2) πŸ“‰ Slow Growth for Utilities:

Renewables are cheaper than ever with subsidies from the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), yet many utilities fail to infiltrate them into their energy mixes. In fact, only 57% of US utilities have increased their renewables usage since 22%, with 31% of utilities decreasing in their sustainability scores. Learn more here


3) 😧 $600 billion more for grids:

To meet our clean energy goals, 80 million km of grids globally must be added or replaced by 2040, this is equivalent to the current global amount of grids. This means an annual investment to grids to double to more than $600 billion USD a year. Learn more here
