1) ❌ California vs. Big Oil:
California is suing five major oil companies for climate science denialism. According to Newsom, California's Governor, "industry-funded reports directly linked fossil fuel consumption to rising global temperatures", yet these oil companies buried these findings. Learn more here
2) 😅 A Natural Spin on Carbon Capture:
Israel-based company, Rewind, has a plan for carbon sequestration that uses plants. The company's plan is to take plants' existing power to store carbon, and then to stop these plants from ever releasing this carbon. They'll do this by bringing the plants to the Black Sea. Learn more here
3) 📊 Will Australia's Green Plan Work?:
Australia's plan to switch to renewables is bold, but is it a real plan? Professor Lesley Hughes doesn't think so, citing that the Australian government plans to subsidize new fossil fuel development, while phasing it out, an equation that doesn't add up. Learn more here

The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is an 8-week-long program designed to give students a close look at the opportunities within the energy industry. In each hour-long session, members will either engage with an energy leader or network with their fellow cohort members. The Energy Terminal team will select a cohort of 10-15 students so that the cohort has the opportunity to make deeper connections with each other and the industry leaders.
This fall, guest speakers will come from NextEraEnergy, Mckinsey & Co, Ecliptic Capital, bp, and Dayaway Careers. Each guest targets a different energy vertical: Finance & Business, Policy, and Engineering. Apply today!
Applications are open until September 29. The program will run on Mondays at 8 PM beginning on October 2nd.
