1) π€ 4.88 Billion for Renewable Switch:
In line with Germany's to use 100% renewables by 2045, German power grid operator 50Hertz signs a 4.6 billion Euro (4.88 bill USD) contract to expand high-capacity submarine and land cables to transfer electricity. Learn more here
2) π Growth + Stall of Renewables:
Renewable energy capacity has grown from 2013-2022, but the Middle East, Africa, and South & Central America have not seen this exceptional growth. International aid for clean energy research in these regions is down >3% from 2012. Maybe a decrease in support is to blame for a lack of global renewable growth? Learn more here

In 2023, world oil demand hit an all time high. However, the International Energy Agency predicted that oil demand would be peak in this decade, due to the increase of other energy technologies.
